                                                          The spine.

The spine or backbone is the central support of your whole body and if you didn't have it you would practically fall apart. Your spine is curved to support and balance the body on two legs. Many mammles don't have a straight spine. Your spine has 26 separate bones called vertabrae. Vertabrae area layer of cartilage that keeps the bones from rubbing against each other. When you are getting older your spine starts to develop problems. Your discs start to wear out.

                                                           The Ribs

Your ribs have something called the breastbone or sternum to protect your heart from any damage. Most people have 12 ribs in there body. The first seven pairs of ribs are attached directaly to the breastbone. The eighth ninth and tenth  pairs are attached to the sternum by a cariladge band. The ribs are curved so they can protect the spine.

The Hand

Each hand has 27 different bones. The bones are connected with muscels and tendons. Tendons are tough  tissue that connectes the muscel to the bone. The hand bones also have a nickname, metacarpus. Metacarpus is the five bones from the tips of your fingers to  the bottom of your wrist. Just like the bones in your foot, the bones in your fingers are called phalanges. Your fingers have three phalanges and the thumb has only two. These joints allow your finger to be a lot more flexible. Because of these bones your hands are a lot more fuctional then most any other creature.

The Arm

The bones in your arms ar very flexible just like the bones in your hands. Your arms is made up of a total of 3 main bones the ulna, radius and the humerus. You probably heard of at least one of these before.
