September 28th-

 

              Hey!  I can't believe fifth grade flew by already and I am in the Middle School.  I like it so far and I love switching classes.  It's alot of fun! I miss having the smartboard for every subject though.  We have a mirror and disco ball in Social Studies! LOL I miss everybody in my class and everyone is lucky to hve Mr. Pollitt this year.  He is so nice.  Well I have to go now. 

 

 

 

June 21st- Homework

 

                                                                                           The Westing Game

 

            THe Pollitt's class just finished The Westing game movie.  Before we watched the movie, we read the book and I loved it!  The movie was O.K but the book was definetly better.  It was good that we read the book before because the movie was really different.  I liked the version of the book much better.

            The book had a lot more detail and described the story much better.  The movie had a lot of different changes.  Alot more characters were in the book that weren't in the movie.  For instant, Flora Bombauch was in the book and not in the movie.  The book was much more scarrier and a lot more fun to read.  The movie skipped a lot of parts that wre in the book and wasn't that excited.  I liked the book so much better!

 

 

 

 

 

June 5th-

 

          Hey!  Welcome to June!  I would tell you about Colebrook, but I have to do my homework first and it is getting late.  I can't believe school is almost over! In the last few weeks of school we will be doing some cool projects.  My group(Tara, Tina, Gina, Taylor, kayla and myself) decided to design our own salon.  Let me give you a brief description.

              I think it should take us about a week to make our salon because we would want to make it just  right.  At our salon you could get your hair done, make up, Manis and pedis and there would also be a spa in it.  We would be incorporating math in our project by how much money we will be spending and the ounces of shampoo and conditioner we need and so on.Our project would not also be fun  but educational too!  It would make a great project for anyone.  That is only a little preview on what our salon will be like.

                   Oh No!  A few days ago the Pollitt's of room 228's projector broke.  Well, not the whole projector, just the bulb.  We are stuck in a sticky situation!  We don't know if we should buy a new projector or just buy a new bulb.

                    I personally feel that we should buy a whole new projector.  A new projector(which would come with two bulbs) is about $700 and a bulb is about $400 dollars.  In the long run, you will save more money by just buying the new projector.  It's alot more easier than having to insert a new lightbulb in the projector!  If you bought the new projector, all you would have to do is set it up and be done with  it.  The new projector is actually cheaper if you think about it.  One bulb is $400 dollars and they projector is $700.  You get two bulbs and a new projetor for less money!  You can't just think about what would be better for now, you have to think about the future. 

                   Buying the new projector is the way to go!  If I were Mr. Pollitt, I would definetly spend the extra money to buy the new projector.  Trust me, it's worth it! 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

May 21st-

 

         Hey!  Whats up?  I haven't talked to you in a week.  I forgot to tell you that last Monday WAS MY BIRTHDAY!  I got some clothes and a wave board.  I am on it all the time now!  It's so much fun!  I went out to eat during lunch and then we went out to dinner.  We went to Plum Tomatoes which is a resturant/pizzaria.  It was very good.  All last week I have been busy with sports and riding my wave board!  That's pretty much it

 

Today I have been outside on my wave board and just hanging out.  Right now my grandparents are over so I have to go in a little bit.  I am sort of bored.  Let me go and finish my homework and stuff like that!  See Yah! TTYL!

Sara's Pizza Parlor

 

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to own your own resutrant

You could pick out the name and even pick out your own font

 

It would be a pizza parlor to eat and enjoy

You could make your own pizza and put some sauce on such as soy

 

There would be brick ovens nice and hot

All the cheese would be kept in cold cupboards so it wouldn't rot

 

There would be nice waiters that would serve you every time

All you would have to do is make a chime

 

The resturant would be nice and clean

All the people working there would not be mean

 

THe pizza would be delicious

All hot and crispy too

You could eat the whole pie and not want to tell your mom it's true

 

The pizza would be so good to chew

THe other resturants would get a thumb down and a boo

 

The tables would fit both small and big parties such as 2, 5 and 20

Your meal would be less than thirty

 

There would not be a bar

When the ladies are tired, the men willl drive the car

May 7th- Alphabet Essay

The Ultimate Amusement Park Ride

 

             Have you ever thought of the Ultimate Amusement Park Ride?  Well, there may not be one, so how about create your own.  If I could create my own ride, it would be like this..........................

             Lets start with what kind of ride it is.  My ultimate ride would be a rollercoaster.  This ride would be for ages eight and up.  You would aboard a boat in a dark and creepy boat house.  There would be certain seats with seat belts.  There would be a row of five in the back and a row of two in between.  In the middle there would be rows of three with a tour guide driving the boat.  The ride would actully be on a track, the guide would be pertending to drive it. 

             Once everyone is seating the boat would slowly come out of the boat house and into a pool of water (that looks like an ocean).  The tour guide would take you slowly around the ocean and tell you about the animals that live in it.  Then, out of nowhere, a giant sea monster starts bumping into your boat.  He would crash into you and do many things.  There would also be a bunch of sharks that surround you and the music statrts up da na na na da na na na...  Then the tour guide statrs the engine up and drives as fast as she can.  You zoom through the water while it spalshes uo on you.  When you think you got away, you hear noises, giant deadly fish are attacking.

              When you try to get away, a huge storm hits.  It starts raining and there is thunder and lightning in the sky.  The cover whips off the boat and you statr getting soaking wet from the rain.  After the rain lets uo you safely return to the boat house with dripping wet clothes.  What a thrilling rollercoaster. 

                I would love to ride my rolloercoaster.  It would be the best ride in any amusement park.  I hope you would like to ride my amazing ultimate rollercoaster!  If you are thinking of riding, don't forget to bring a bathing suit!

What I want to be when I grow Up

 

                 Many people know what they want to be when they grow up.  I have somewhat of an idea of what I want to be.  It is hard to decide with so many jobs out there that you can do if you study hard.  I think my life may go somewhat like this.........

                I will go to a very good collage and get a great education.  With a good education I might become a vet.  I would also like to become a interior designer.  I would love to become an interior designer because I love to design rooms.  I would want to make people's houses look very nice.  I would pick out there curtains and give them different color combinations.  I would be a lot of fun and it would be a great job.  If I had that job, I would love what I did.  You have to pick a job that you would love to do every day.  It would be the best job for me. 

                I would also love to become a vet.  I have always loved animals.  It would be great to work with them every single day.  It would make me feel great every day that I am helping cure animals and make them healthy.   Th at would also be great job for me.

                Everyone thinks about what job they want to be.  How about what job you don't want to be/  I have amny jobs that I really ddon't want to be such as a mailman, a store clerk, a gas station worker or a cleaning lady.  I wouldn't want to be a gas station worker beacuse you have to smell gas all day.

              Hey!  Guess What?  Today is the band concert.  It is in about 15 minutes.  I have a couple of minutes to talk to you.  We are having three concerts today.  THere is one this morning, one in the afternoon and one at night.  I can't wait to get out of my outfit that I have to wear.  I have to wear black pants, a white top  and a band vest.  I want to change into my shorts and a T- shirt.  Well, I have to go now1  See Yah!

 

 

 

 

 

 

May 2nd-

 

          Hi, it's me again!  I hope you didn't run out of breath reading my last entry.  What can I say, I had a lot to write.  This school year has gone so fast so far.  I can't wait till Colebrook.  Every year the whole fifth grade goes to Colebrook.  Everyone says it's alot of fun.  We all get a Colebrook shirt which we pick the colors that we want.  This year we voted on a navy blue shirt with light blue lettering.  At first I was a little upset but they actully are nice colots.  I wanted a light blue shirt with pink lettering.  Anyhow i am really excited.  We go to Colebrook on Mey 3oth.  Today I have lax(lacrosse) practice at six so I have a lot of time in between.  Right now I have to finish my homework.  TTYS(talk to you soon)

              Hey, I'm back!  I hope you liked my Alphabet Essay.  This time I chose to write a poem.  I like poems that rhyme so I tries to make it the best I could.  Trying to find words that rhym is hard.  Well anyway, let me tell you about my weekend.  On Friday I came home and went to lacrosse practice.  I had pizza and watched a little TV.  Then my sister and her friend came home from Respit.  They do it at the church.  It is a program for kids with special needs.  We played games and things like that.  Then my cousins came to our house from a rehersal dinner.  They live in California and they were visiting.  Alltogether we had candy and played a game called Happy Family.  My sisters friend taught it to us.  You all take slips of paper and write a name on it or a chracter from a movie.  Then you put them all in a bowl and the reader{ who does not put a name in} reads all the names out loud.  Then you try to guess eachothers person.  If you get it right, they become part of your family.  It's alot of fun.  One time my cousin put icecream instead of a person or characters name.  LOL ( laugh out loud)  When it was about midnight, we headed to bed.  I had to wake up early the next day to get to a soccer game at 8:15.  We were playing the best team in the division and lost 5 to 3.  After that I went right to St. Pauls because my mom was having a bake sale with my sister and her friends.  I stayed there untill about two.  Then I went home and got ready for lacrosse practice.  After lacrosse practice, I played outside and did other stuff.  My cousins were at a wedding all day.  On Sunday I woke up at about seven to get ready for my lacrosse game wich was at nine in Half Hollows Hill.  We won our game and then striaght from there we went to my grandma's house.  We changed and then went to church with all of our cousins.  THen we went to Danfords(wich is a bed and breakfast) and had a party for my grandma and grandpa's 50th anniversery.  I will tel you more but I have to go to dinner. Bye!  Sorry!  I had to eat dinner.  I had ravilolli.  Let me get back to what I was saying.  We got a private room for all of us.  There was about 36 people there.  There was a drink bar and balloons.  It was really nice.  This place was in Port Jeffereson so we were right near the port and the beach.  My mom hired a profesional photagrapher to come and take family pictures and all that.  Afterwards we went on the beach and played in the sand.  It was a lot of fun!  The party lasted for four hours.  Afterwards we went back to my aunts house.  We watched a video of all pictures of my grandparents that my mom's friend made for us.  They loved it so much.  Thrm we went outside and played running bases and baseball.  When it got dark, we went inside and had pizza and soda.  A while after we had cake and cookies.  Then we had to go home.  I finally went to bed around 11:oo.  I was excausted!  The next day I woke up and went back to school.  That is pretty much all I did over the weekend.  Sorry about how long this was, there was so much to write.  Well right now I have to finish the rest of my homework.  See Yah real soon!

        Every week we have an Alphabet Essay.  This week our topic was what you would do with a brick wall that is 10 feet long, 12 1/2 inches high and 4 inches thick.  This is what I wrote.

 

 

       What you could do with a Little brick Wall...........

 

 

 

What could you do with a little brick wall?  Why, that's easy!  You could do many things such as.............

With a little brick wall you could make a divider in your shed. 

 

I'm sure your shed is a disaster.

With a divider you could find things much much faster.

 

On one side toys and on the other tools.

Don't take a long time acting like fools.

 

What a great way to orginize your sheds

C' mon people, use your heads

 

You could also put this brick wall on your porch

Right next to it on stormy days, to light up the path you could have a torch.

 

You could cut a hole in the wall

To put a gate in so no one would fall

 

If that person fell, it wouldn't be hard to ring the doorbell

 

You could also put it in your basement

You could paint pictures on it and dry them with an air vent

 

You could even tape pictures on the brick wall

You could make it like a mural

 

The wall would be double sided to have more room

To see your pictures down the stairs they would zoom

 

There are so many more ideas I could list on a chain

April 30th-

 

            Hey!  Did you know today is the last day of April.  I am so excited because May is coming up.  May is my favorite month.  My birthday is in May!  My birthday is in 2 weeks.  I can't wait.  I share a birthday with my dad, neighbor and friend.  Isn't that weird?  Well anyway, today I went to my sisters lacrosse game and I saw Kayla there.  We played on the feild until she had to  go to her softball game.  After that I came home and played outside for a while and did my homewwork right here on the wiki.  We had to answer the Quetion Of The Week: What is your favorite sport.  I wrote about soccer and how I loved playing it.  You shoud check it out, it has everyone's favorite sports and reasons why.  It is one of our most recent pages.   I have to go now because my sister needs to get on the computer.  Talk to you a different time.  See Yah!

 

 

 

 

 

April 24th-

 

           Hi!  Today I will talk to you about a little debate.  We are debating on wether we should do classwork outside on the grass or inside the classroom.  I think we should do classwork outside.  It is a lot more fun and it gets everyone excited to go do work.  It's not good for anyone to be sitting in the classroom all the time.  We need fresh air and to get outside in the warm sun or even sit under a shady tree.  I think working outside makes people more focased on the work that we are doing instead of playing with things in their desk.  All kids just want to get outside and just relax.  I think we should do our classwork outside in the fresh air.  What do you think?

 

 

April 23rd-

 

           HEy!  Today I went to buddy day at the Middle School.  It was a lot of fun.  Let me tell you all about it.  We got on the bus and drove over to the middle school.  Then we got paired up with our buddies in the library and then we went right to class.  My buddy was Marie.  She was really nice.  She took me for a tour and gave me really good tips for the Middle School.  Her first class was ELA.  While she was taking a test, I made a Happy Spring card for her teachers aunt.  Her aunt gave them to sick people.  The teacher was Mrs. Andrews.  She was really nice and I might want to get  her next year.  THen we went right to Italain class where we played Simon Says in Italian.  Marie gave me a sheet that had all the words on it.  Her teacher was really nice.  We left Italian a little early to get to lunch.  The lines were really long so I bought a snack and a drink.  Her friends said hello to me and were also really nice.  After lunch my buddy left and we went back to school.  Buddy day was really exciting and fun!  I can't wait to go to the Middle School!

 

 

 

 

 

 

April 11th-

 

Hey!  How was your Easter?  Mine was great!  I got a lot of candy and things in my Easter Basket.  I'm not really happy about going back to school from that long break.  Over the April break I didn't go anywhere.  I just stayed home and relaxed.  I had friends over and I went  to a sleepover.  The day before Easter my family and I colored eggs and made Easter Bread.  On Easter we woke up and found our Easter Baskets.  We looked at what we got for a while then we got dressed for church and had breakfast.  After church we had an Easter egg hunt in the front and backyard.  After a while we got in the car and drove to my  Aunts house for Easter.  We had to take pictures.  Ughhhhh!  Then after that we had another Easter egg hunt with money inside the eggs.  My mom left with my dad and sister because she had to go to work.   My little sister and I stayed over at my Aunt's house.  The next day she drove us home and all my cousins came over to hang out at my house.  On Tuesday I went to a friends house and stayed till about four.  Then my mom picked me up and drove me to soccer practice.  That is pretty much all I did over the break.

 

 

 

March 30th-

 

           Hi!  I'm back again.  The play was great!   Everyone liked the play and thought it was so good.  It was very crowded at night.  Today I am going to the planiterium with my class and my 2nd grade buddies.  We are leaving in a little bit.    So if I have to sign off, thats why.  What else do I want to tell you?  I am so excited about the Easter Break!!!  I love not having to get up and go to school every morning.  I have to go now!  Bye!

 

 

March 29th-

 

         Hey!  I am so sorry.  I haven't written to you in more then a month.  I was out sick the week before Febuary break.  I missed a whole week of school!  Then we had Febuary break.  WHen I went back to school, I was so busy.  Play practice started.  Did I ever tell you what play we are doing?  I must have forget!  Well, we are doing  The Jungle Book!  Today is the actual day of the play.  I'm very excited.  We have been doing dress rehersals for different schools but, this is the real thing.  I have to go to school now!  Bye!

              It's February! I haven't written to you in a while. I have been so busy lately.  How was your weekend?  My weekend was great.  I had a great time at Rocking Horse Ranch.  I went tubing, sking, horseback riding and did many other things.  It was a lot of fun!  American Idol is on tonight!  Do you watch it?  I do and I look foward to it every week.  I love seeing all the different people audition.  Some people are so bad.  It is really funny.   Well, I have to go now.  See You Soon! January 31st-- Homework

 

            Hi! I'm back again. Now I will tell you a little bit about a article I read in the newspaper today called, " Toad's more than a meal".  This article is about a snake.  The Asian snake uses the poisoin  from the toads it eats to defend itself from harm.  This snake is usually found in Koria, Russia, China, Taiwan and Japan.  They are about three feet long.  American and Japan scientists are studying these snakes to learn more about them.  As you can see, they already found something very interesting about them!

 

 

 

January 31st-

 

            Hey! Sorry I had to leave so early.  I had to go back to my classroom.  I really don't have a lot of time to talk now.  Over the weekend I am going to Rocking Horse Ranch!  It is a place where you can ski, tube and horse back ride.  I am very excited.  There are so many different things you can do there.  I am leaving on Friday and getting back on Super Bowl Sunday.  On Super Bowl Sunday I am going to my neighbors house for a party.  Well, I have to log off now.  Bye for now!            Hi! It's me again.  I really don't like Mondays.  You have to get up early and go back to school.  I didn't want to get up today. Today after school I have soccer practice again.  I just had soccer practice yesterday.  I fell on the floor and burned my knee.  It really hurt.  I have been so busy telling you different things that I never got to tell you a little bit about myself.  i have to go now.  See yah! January 27th-

 

            Hey! How is your Saturday so far?  I woke up at about 7:00 and then I went on webkinz for a while.  Webkinz is a great website where you can play lots of different things.  It is a stuffed animal that comes with a code.  You go to www.webkinz.com and you insert the code.  Then your animal comes to life.  You can make a house and play all different types of games.  I have five webkinz.  I have the basset hound, cocker spaniel, monkey, horse and poodle.  It is such a great site! You should visit it sometime.  Well any way, after that I went downstairs had breakfast then played with my dog for a little bit. That is pretty much all I did so far.  Now I have a little free time to talk to you.  I am not doing anything this afternoon.  I wish it started snowing so I could play in the snow.  I am so upset that it hasn't snowed all winter yet.  I got a snow tube for Christmas and I can't even use it.  It is so cold for nothing! I really want it to snow!           Hi! I'm back.  I just left my friend's house. I went over right after school and stayed till about 9:00 pm.  I was at her house for a very long time.  My other friend came over too and we all hung out together.  We watched a movie called The Devil Wears Prada and had pizza.  Well my mom is calling me so I have to go now.  So Long!  See you again tommorow!

           Hi again! I am at mathletes right now.  I finished working and now I have some free time to talk to you.  After mathletes I am going to St. Pauls to run around the upstairs track.  After that I am just going home and studying for my social studies test tommorow.  I am going to have to study for a long time.  Today we had gym.  We played volleyball.  I really don't like volleyball.  My favorite thing to do in gym is survivor island.  There are differnet islands that you have to travel to and complate the task.  It is a lot of fun.  Today it started snowing during recess.  I wasn't there because I was in band.  I play the flute.  I wish I was outside in the snow.  The classes had to come in anyway because it was to cold out.  My dog loves playing in the snow.  This is her first winter so she is really excited.  Well mathleates is ending so I have to go.  Bye for now!            Welcome Back! Now I will tell you a little bit about my favorite hobby.  My favorite hobby is playing soccer.  I love to play soccer.  I am on a team called the Tigers.  On the team I am number 8.  I usually play fullback but, sometimes I play halfback.  Soccer is also my favorite sport.  I love to play it.

           Hey! What's up? Sorry I had to leave early yesterday.  My class was late for library.  I just finished working on my 21st century classroom project.  We had to write what a 21st century classroom should look like.  Then we had to draw a picture to go along with it.  It was a lot of fun getting to see all the different ideas people came up with!  Today I am going to my sisters gymnastics and just hanging out.  I don't really do anything special on Wednesdays.  That is pretty much it.  Well, I have to go now.  See Ya!

I am going to tell you a little bit about my weekend.  Over the weekend I went  to my aunt's house for a birthday party.  I had to leave my dog home because we couldn't bring her.  At the party I played games and played with my cousins.  We had to leave early because my mom had to work.  I really didn't want to leave because I was having fun.  That is pretty much all I did over the weekend.
